01 · Who He Is
Who he is
Prof. Dr. Evrim Erdemoğlu is a gynecologic oncology surgeon — a gynecologist with formal subspecialty certification in the surgical treatment of women’s cancers. He is Professor of Gynecologic Oncology and served as Head of the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at Süleyman Demirel University.
He was a Clinical Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Arizona, USA (2024–2025), and continues his research collaboration with Mayo Clinic (2025–2026). His work there focuses on HIPEC, laparoscopy, fluorescence-guided surgery, robotic oncologic surgery, and intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) in gynecologic cancers.

“To Heal All with Skill and Trust”
In 2025, Prof. Erdemoğlu was elected a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), founded in 1913 and the largest organization of surgeons in the world.
The letters FACS after a surgeon’s name mean that his education, training, professional qualifications, surgical competence and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation and been found consistent with the high standards of the College.
Its motto — “To Heal All with Skill and Trust” — is not a slogan but a promise: skill, meaning surgical excellence maintained through lifelong education; trust, meaning care that puts the patient’s interest above all else.
Prof. Erdemoğlu carries this promise into every consultation and every operation.
03 · CAREER
Career
After graduating from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara, he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ankara Zekai Tahir Burak Women’s Hospital, one of Turkey’s highest-volume women’s hospitals, and received his subspecialty board certification in gynecologic oncology in 2011.
His surgical development is international by design: laparoscopic surgery fellowships at Charité University Berlin; a year as visiting surgeon at the Ovarian Cancer Center of the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan, where he joined the operating teams and assisted ovarian cancer surgeries; and the ESAGON (European School of Abdomino-pelvic Surgery in Gynecologic Oncology) advanced ovarian cancer surgery program, including cadaver dissection workshops (2016, 2018), with dedicated training in cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC.
In 2016, he founded and directed one of Turkey’s first official gynecologic oncology fellowship programs; the surgeons he trained now serve in university and private hospitals across the country. Since 2024, he has continued his research collaboration with Mayo Clinic while treating patients in Antalya at Memorial Antalya Hospital and Medstar Yıldız Hospital.
04 · ACADEMIC WORK
Fields of Research
His academic work concentrates on the frontier of surgical oncology: fluorescence-guided detection of microscopic disease in ovarian cancer, intraoperative radiotherapy, robotic single-port surgery, HIPEC and intraperitoneal chemotherapy, and artificial intelligence for the early detection of endometrial cancer.
He has authored more than 111 indexed publications and 7 book chapters, including publications in The Lancet and chapters in the international reference Atlas of Pelvic Anatomy and Gynecologic Surgery. He serves in editorial roles for international and national journals, including as Special Issue Editor of Cancers on radical pelvic surgery.
