PROF. DR. EVRİM ERDEMOĞLU

Minimally Invasive & Robotic Surgery (Laparoscopy, vNOTES)

Millimeter incisions. Uncompromised oncology.

Minimally invasive surgery — laparoscopic, robotic, and vNOTES (surgery through the vagina with no abdominal incision at all) — means less pain, less blood loss, faster recovery and earlier return to daily life. In cancer surgery it is applied strictly by the evidence: for endometrial cancer and many other indications it is a standard of care; where evidence favors open surgery, open surgery is recommended. Honest indication is part of surgical quality.

Prof. Erdemoğlu’s minimally invasive training began at Charité Berlin; his current research at Mayo Clinic includes robotic single-port surgery. He has published comparative studies of single-port versus multi-port robotic hysterectomy, robotic pelvic floor exploration, and vaginally assisted laparoscopic procedures. Sentinel lymph node mapping with fluorescence imaging is used routinely to reduce the extent of lymph node surgery without losing staging accuracy.

Suitable for:

Endometrial cancer; early cervical cancer per current evidence; adnexal masses; complex benign disease; risk-reducing surgery in BRCA carriers.
